In a nutshell, Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) works from within cells to aid in the reduction of pain and inflammation and promote tissue repair. And it's painless!
Specifically, LLLT seems to have a therapeutic effect on mitochondria, which produce a chemical known as ATP (adenosine triphosphate) to run the body and heal tissue. All of our body's activities result from the use of ATP, it's like gasoline to a car. Thus with more ATP at the cell level, tissues heal faster, and therefore relief comes quicker.
The list of symptoms responding to LLLT is growing, and more valid research is being performed on a daily basis. If you have a particular question about conditions not listed below, feel free to schedule a no-charge consultation with the doctor.
Number of Treatments Needed
Each patient is unique, so results can vary from one patient to the next. Typically 10 to 20 treatments are necessary to begin the healing process of tissue. Maximum treatment would be 1-2x per day per area, minimum would be about 2x per week to still see results. For chronic conditions, this treatment cycle may need to be repeated periodically as needed.
